Bills, Josh Allen Agree To Six-Year, $258 Million Extension
Buffalo has locked up its franchise quarterback for the long haul.

Previously signed through 2022, Josh Allen and the Bills have agreed to a six-year contract extension through 2028, the team announced Friday.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the six-year extension has a value of $258 million with $150 million guaranteed.

Allen earned a significant raise following a breakthrough season in which he set numerous franchise passing and scoring records in leading Buffalo to its first AFC East title since 1995 and its deepest playoff run in 27 years. Buffalo's season ended with a loss to Kansas City in the AFC Championship Game.

In doing so, the 25-year-old Allen solidified a position that had been unsettled in Buffalo since Hall of Famer Jim Kelly retired after the 1996 season.

Allen becomes the first member of the 2018 quarterback class to agree to terms. Allen’s deal immediately becomes relevant to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.

As Profootballtalk.com notes, it was smart for the Bills to get it done.

They’re clearly sold on Allen. By waiting, it was only going to get more expensive.

Beyond that, fantasy football managers who have invested in Allen in Dynasty formats can rest easy. The rest of us, who have been investing QB2-range draft capital to secure him in best balls and other early drafts, have no reason to be any less confident than we already were.
