The Facts: The Saints confirmed that Carr did suffer a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Lions.

Diehards Line: It's Carr's second concussion in less than a month. HC Dennis Allen said he is also being evaluated for a rib injury (the one that was announced as a back injury during the game). Allen said he believes Carr’s shoulder came out OK though. ... Jameis Winston will get the start this week if Carr can't go.

The Facts: Henry was evaluated for a concussion during Sunday’s overtime loss to the Colts, but HC Mike Vrabel said he hasn’t been diagnosed with one.

Diehards Line:While a report on Monday morning said that Henry is in the concussion protocol, Vrabel said at his Monday press conference that the running back has not been put into it at this point. “We checked on him last night, then checked on him in the morning,” Vrabel said, via Turron Davenport of ESPN.com.

The Facts: Another playoff contender won’t have their quarterback for some time. Per Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pickett will undergo ankle surgery on Monday morning. The procedure is expected to keep him out for two to four weeks.

Diehards Line:Pickett suffered his ankle injury during the first half of Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals. He had come into the game with an ankle issue already on the radar, as he was listed on the injury report throughout the week — though he was a full participant and had no game status. Still, Pickett had his ankle heavily taped at the start of the game. With Pickett out, Mitch Trubisky is in line to start for the Steelers when they take on the Patriots this Thursday night. The Steelers will then play at Indianapolis, vs. Cincinnati, at Seattle, and at Baltimore to end the regular season.

The Facts: Cooper suffered a concussion in Sunday's 36-19 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, according to coach Kevin Stefanski.

Diehards Line: Cooper was injured in the second quarter while trying to catch a pass from quarterback Joe Flacco. He was taken to the locker room shortly after and ruled out with what the team called a head injury. Cooper's injury is the latest blow to a Browns offense that has been decimated by injuries. The Browns were starting their fourth quarterback this season in Flacco. Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who had started Cleveland's previous two games, is still in the concussion protocol. Cooper had 3 catches for 34 yards before the injury. Coming into the game, he led the Browns with 47 receptions for 765 yards.

The Facts: The New Orleans Saints not only suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Detroit Lions, they may be without Carr for an extended period. Carr exited Sunday's game in the second half due to shoulder and back injuries. The Saints also announced that he is in the league's concussion protocol. "Derek is in the concussion protocol right now," head coach Dennis Allen said after the game. "We will evaluate that as we go."

Diehards Line: Carr was injured in the fourth quarter after sustaining a huge hit from Lions pass rusher Bruce Irvin. Irvin was penalized for roughing the passer on the play. Shortly after the play, Carr was carted off the field and did not return. Veteran Jameis Winston replaced Carr at QB for New Orleans. Before his injury, Carr completed 17 of 22 passes for 226 passing yards, one touchdown and an interception. Jamies Winston, who took over in the fourth quarter, managed to rally New Orleans back in the game but the comeback fell short. Winston finished the game 2 of 5 for 41 yards. New Orleans next faces the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.

The Facts: Pickett is expected to be sidelined "a couple weeks" with a right ankle injury he sustained Sunday in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Diehards Line: With Pickett sidelined, backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky is expected to start Thursday against the New England Patriots. "We'll roll with Mitch if [Pickett] can't play," coach Mike Tomlin said immediately after the loss. Pickett sustained the injury midway through the second quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers' 24-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals and did not return. Trubisky took over in his absence and finished the game 11-of-17 for 117 yards and a touchdown. He also lost a fumble.

The Facts: On Wednesday, hand specialist Dr. Steven Shin of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles operated on Taylor, repairing the torn UCL in his thumb. Despite playing the second half of last week's win over the Bucs with the injury, surgery was the only answer and not a choice, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Sources tell Rapoport Taylor's recovery time is three to five weeks. Indy left the door open for him to return before four weeks by not placing him on injured reserve, and Taylor was already back with the team the day after surgery.

Diehards Line: Here's why: The ligament tore off the base of the thumb and flipped on top of the tendon, sources say. Once that happens, the only way to avoid a loose tendon in the future is to have surgery to tuck the ligament back under the tendon so it can function. Immediate surgery was a necessity. Shin used an internal brace on the ligament, sources say, the same as he did to Drew Brees for a similar injury in 2019. Thanks to the internal brace, what would be a recovery taking many months will be shorter. But for at least the next three weeks, it's Zack Moss' time to shine.
