The Facts: After recently being cleared to practice, Rodgers is likely to be medically cleared to play this week upcoming, league sources told ESPN.
Diehards Line:
But being medically cleared doesn't necessarily mean that Rodgers automatically will take the field on Christmas Eve against the Washington Commanders. Rodgers and the Jets organization still need to get together to discuss if returning next Sunday is the next step they want to take. Much could depend on the outcome of the Jets' Week 15 game Sunday in Miami against the Miami Dolphins and if New York still has any chance -- even infinitesimal -- of making the postseason. The Jets have until Wednesday to activate Rodgers to their roster; if they don't make that roster move by Wednesday, Rodgers cannot be activated this season. It's also possible that they would activate him by Wednesday but not play him against the Commanders. ... We'll be watching for more in coming days.
The Facts: Pittman provided an update on social media shortly after his team defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 30-13, on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Pittman Jr. exited the game during the second quarter after taking a scary hit from Steelers safety Damontae Kazee, who was ejected immediately because of it. Pittman was quickly ruled out with a concussion after going to the locker room, but he tweeted an encouraging update after the win. "I'm all good," the receiver posted on X.
Diehards Line:Indeed, Pittman Jr. was able to walk off the field under his own power, and he seemed pretty alert for someone who had just taken a massive hit. Before the injury, Pittman Jr. was able to grab four receptions for 78 yards. That put him over the 1,000-yard mark for the season, which is the second time he’s done so in his career. Pittman Jr. is very likely to be in the concussion protocol going into Week 16 so his status is to be determined as the Colts begin preparing for the road game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Facts: The Bengals ruled out Chase for the remainder of the game after he suffered a shoulder injury late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's home game against the Minnesota Vikings. Mike Garafolo reported on the NFL Network broadcast that the receiver was dealing with separated shoulder.
Diehards Line:
Although he has been banged up at times, Chase has not missed a game this season, and he entered Saturday's contest with 89 receptions for 1,092 yards and seven touchdowns. Garafolo reports there will be more testing Sunday, but there's some optimism that Chase won't miss time. If he does miss time beyond Saturday's game, QB Jake Browning will likely primarily turn to Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd at wideout. The opposition will likely see a heavy dose of running back Joe Mixon as well, plus plenty of run from tight ends Irv Smith Jr., Tanner Hudson and Drew Sample.
The Facts: Following a historic loss to their division-rival Raiders, the Chargers fired HC Brandon Staley.
Diehards Line:
The move that some expected after the Chargers’ playoff collapse in Jacksonville last January now has been made some 11 months later. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports it's a total housecleaning after last night’s disaster, firing both Staley and long-time GM Tom Telesco. We'll have more details as developments warrant.
The Facts: Following up on this week's Team Notes. ... The Chargers ruled out Allen (heel) for Thursday night’s game in Las Vegas against the Raiders.
Diehards Line:
Allen played almost all of the offensive snaps against the Broncos in Sunday's loss and Wednesday will bring word of his injury designation for Thursday night's game against the Raiders. A key weapon missing for new starting QB Easton Stick. ... More when Late-Breaking Updates begin early Thursday.
The Facts: The Chargers will be without Herbert for the remainder of the season as he needs surgery to repair a fractured right index finger. The Chargers announced Herbert is being placed on injured reserve.
Diehards Line:
Through his four NFL seasons with the Chargers, Herbert has yet to miss a start (62 games). But now the second-longest active streak by a quarterback will come to an end and Easton Stick will be under center going forward. Only Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who has started 84 consecutive games, has played more. Stick, a 2018 fifth-round pick, went 13-for-24 for 179 yards and zero touchdown passes or interceptions after replacing Herbert against the Broncos. The 5-8 Chargers have lost four of their last five games and are two wins behind in the AFC wild card race. Their remaining games are against the Raiders, Bills, Broncos, and Kansas City Chiefs. Winning out won't do the trick. They'll need plenty of help in order to make the playoffs for the second year in a row.
The Facts: Hill was injured on a hip-drop tackle by Sean Murphy-Bunting with 3:03 remaining in the first quarter. Hill stayed down along the sideline and was attended to before sprinting off the field to cheers.
Diehards Line:Hill remained standing on the sideline alongside Mike McDaniel. The Dolphins listed him as questionable to return with an ankle injury, but return he did. Hill was back on the field in the second half. ... We'll update as needed.
The Facts: The Titans and Dolphins have released the inactive lists for tonight's game and there are no surprises.

The Titans will be without DT Jeffery Simmons, DB Kristian Fulton, OLB Caleb Murphy, OLB Trevis Gipson, QB Malik Willis, DB Mike Brown and TE Josh Whyle. The Dolphins have declared WR Chosen Anderson, QB Skylar Thompson, S Jevon Holland, CB Eli Apple, OL Robert Hunt, T Terron Armstead and TE Tyler Kroft inactive.
