The Facts: After recently being cleared to practice, Rodgers is likely to be medically cleared to play this week upcoming, league sources told ESPN.
Diehards Line:
But being medically cleared doesn't necessarily mean that Rodgers automatically will take the field on Christmas Eve against the Washington Commanders. Rodgers and the Jets organization still need to get together to discuss if returning next Sunday is the next step they want to take. Much could depend on the outcome of the Jets' Week 15 game Sunday in Miami against the Miami Dolphins and if New York still has any chance -- even infinitesimal -- of making the postseason. The Jets have until Wednesday to activate Rodgers to their roster; if they don't make that roster move by Wednesday, Rodgers cannot be activated this season. It's also possible that they would activate him by Wednesday but not play him against the Commanders. ... We'll be watching for more in coming days.
The Facts: Pittman provided an update on social media shortly after his team defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 30-13, on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Pittman Jr. exited the game during the second quarter after taking a scary hit from Steelers safety Damontae Kazee, who was ejected immediately because of it. Pittman was quickly ruled out with a concussion after going to the locker room, but he tweeted an encouraging update after the win. "I'm all good," the receiver posted on X.
Diehards Line:Indeed, Pittman Jr. was able to walk off the field under his own power, and he seemed pretty alert for someone who had just taken a massive hit. Before the injury, Pittman Jr. was able to grab four receptions for 78 yards. That put him over the 1,000-yard mark for the season, which is the second time he’s done so in his career. Pittman Jr. is very likely to be in the concussion protocol going into Week 16 so his status is to be determined as the Colts begin preparing for the road game against the Atlanta Falcons.
