The Facts: Jefferson is eligible to come off of injured reserve this week. But as of Monday, it’s still unclear whether or not Minnesota will open his 21-day practice window. Head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters during his press conference that the club is still working through the options with Jefferson. “We’re going to do what’s best for Justin, and make sure when he does return, he can be the Justin Jefferson we all know and can expect to see,” O’Connell said, via Ben Goessling of the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Diehards Line: Jefferson has been out since suffering the injury in the Week 5 loss to Kansas City. In five games, Jefferson has caught 36 passes for 571 yards with three touchdowns. Despite missing the last four weeks, Jefferson is still No. 18 in receiving yards among all players.

The Facts: Goedert has a fracture in his right forearm and underwent MRI on Monday to determine if there is any further damage, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Diehards Line:Either way, Goedert is set to miss time and is an injured reserve candidate. Goedert was injured in the third quarter of Sunday's 28-23 win over the Dallas Cowboys, when he took a short pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts and raced up the left sideline for a 28-yard gain. Safety Markquese Bell grabbed Goedert by the right arm to make the tackle and his weight appeared to land on that arm as they fell to the ground. Goedert exited and did not return, finishing with three catches for 50 yards. Goedert, a second-round pick in the 2018 draft, has 35 catches for 360 yards and two scores on the year. He missed five games last season with a fracture in his left shoulder.

The Facts: Lazard, listed as questionable for tonight's game, is active and available against the Chargers.

Diehards Line: The Jets will be without WRs Randall Cobb and Jason Brownlee and rookie RB Izzy Abanikanda are out. The Chargers will be without RBs Elijah Dotson and Isaiah Spiller. Josh Palmer was placed on IR on Saturday and also will not play.

The Facts: The Giants’ fears have been confirmed. hC Brian Daboll said in his Monday press conference that an MRI revealed Jones suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s loss to the Raiders. Jones is now out for the rest of the 2023 season.

Diehards Line: With backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor also on injured reserve with a rib issue, Tommy DeVito is expected to take over as the Giants’ starting quarterback. Daboll mentioned that he and G.M. Joe Schoen will talk later on Monday to evaluate the position room. But there is no guarantee Taylor will be able to return from IR. So it could be DeVito’s job for several weeks. In his fifth season, Jones completed 67.5 percent of his passes for 909 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions. He rushed for 206 yards with a touchdown. In six games, Jones was sacked 30 times — taking one on 15.8 percent of his dropbacks.

The Facts: Achane hasn't had any setbacks recovering from his knee injury and is on track to return from injured reserve when eligible next week, but Miami will take things "one day at a time," per head coach Mike McDaniel.

Diehards Line: This matches recent reporting out of Miami. All signs point to Achane jumping back into the mix quickly upon return. That said, there's a 21-day window for him to get back on the active roster once desingated to return.

The Facts: HC Sean McVay said he expects Williams to return after the RB comes off of Injured Reserve.

Diehards Line: Williams still has to miss Week 11 against the Seahawks (would be the fourth game for the minimum four games missed when placed on IR), so a Week 12 return is the earliest possible.

The Facts: Chase landed hard on his back during Sunday night’s game. He appeared in pain on the sideline as athletic trainers treated him. Chase confirmed Monday he was in pain, which got worse as the game went on and is worse today. “I’m alive,” Chase said. “That’s the best thing right now. ... It’s pretty sore just moving around.” Chase will undergo more medical tests, which will help determine his practice availability. Bengals coach Zac Taylor called Chase day to day.

Diehards Line: He caught four passes for 41 yards in the victory over the Bills, ending a streak of 15 consecutive games with at least five catches. Chase ended up playing 63 of 70 offensive snaps. Chase said because it’s his spine, they are exercising caution with the injury. “All I can do is pray and be a good teammate and be there for those guys and try to get healthy,” Chase said. “That’s the only thing I can do right now. Everybody is counting on me to be healthy.”

The Facts: Watson had to exit Sunday’s victory over the Rams early with multiple injuries. But it sounds like Watson should be OK going forward. Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters in his Monday press conference that Watson was not diagnosed with a concussion and there aren’t long-term concerns about Watson’s back and chest. “We’re still following it closely just to make sure,” LaFleur said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Diehards Line: Watson caught one 37-yard pass on two targets against the Rams on Sunday. He has 12 receptions for 213 yards with a touchdown this season. The Packers will take on the Steelers in Week 10.

The Facts: The Vikings didn’t plan on playing Dobbs in Week 9, but they are planning on having him make the start in Week 10. Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell made that announcement at a Monday press conference.

Diehards Line: Dobbs entered Sunday’s game against the Falcons in the first quarter after Jaren Hall left with an injury and he piloted an improbable comeback win five days after joining the Vikings in a trade with the Cardinals. Even if Dobbs had not impressed while pulling out the 31-28 win, the Vikings would likely be making the same plans. Hall was diagnosed with a concussion, so the Vikings can’t plan on having the rookie available against the Saints. Sean Mannion is on the practice squad and Nick Mullens is on injured reserve, which makes Dobbs the easy choice to lead the Minnesota offense this week.
