Zach Charbonnet 2023 Outlook
Pete Carroll says a lot of things. Each year the coach tweets a series of “draft clues” to Seattle Seahawks fans, which end up being a mixture of nonsense and smokescreens more than anything. Who knows which of his tweets was meant to convey that Seattle had a high grade on UCLA running back Charbonnet? Maybe the retweet of the “Love is Blind” trailer? Running back wasn’t a major need for the Seahawks after nabbing Kenneth Walker III last year, but Carroll loves having multiple rushers involved and Rashaad Penny did move on come free agency. Charbonnet was a two-time 1,000-yard rusher and showed off some receiving skills at UCLA, too. “He just will fit in and be a great addition,” Carroll said. “And really, we’re going to find out how far he can take it in terms of the receiving part of it. We know he’s really good at it. But so is Kenneth, so those guys will be battling.” They’ll be battling, eh? Again, Carroll says a lot of things, but file this one away.
