Kendre Miller 2023 Outlook
According to NFL.com, when the Saints used their 71st pick in April's draft on Miller, it wasn't a shock. But hearing how the Saints could use the former TCU star might be. Miller was mostly deployed as a first- and second-down runner for the Horned Frogs, a job he did well, rushing for 1,399 yards and 17 touchdowns on only 224 carries. Miller recently told the team's official website that despite being underused as a receiver in college (29 catches in 33 games), he can handle a receiving role -- much like the Alvin Kamara, who has 430 catches in his NFL career, has in New Orleans. "I don't know that they used him as much out of the backfield at TCU," coach Dennis Allen recently said. "But I think he's got that skillset." Miller might have to get up to speed on the Kamara spot in a hurry. Kamara faces an assault trial in Las Vegas on July 31. If he's found guilty and/or suspended, Miller's path to workload is wide open -- even with free-agent addition Jamaal Williams on board.
