Jordan Addison 2023 Outlook
It might not seem like a good thing when a rookie wideout enters an offense featuring the returning league leader in receiving yards. Sure, Addison -- the 23rd overall pick of the Vikings in the NFL Draft -- hasn’t proven himself the way star Justin Jefferson has, but he’s expected to get the chance to fill the vacancy at the spot previously held by Adam Thielen. Especially if he maintains the consistency he showed upon transferring from Pitt to USC for the 2022 season. Minnesota showed explosiveness in spurts a year ago while winning the NFC North, but the offense also could fizzle at times. Providing quarterback Kirk Cousins with options beyond Jefferson should help, though tight end TJ Hockenson is set up to be a key red-zone target. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell called Addison “an impact player at a very important position.” Addison had 59 catches for 875 yards and eight scores at USC one season after snagging 100 catches, including 17 for touchdowns, for 1,593 yards at Pitt.
