Anthony Richardson 2023 Outlook
The most athletic QB prospect since, well, ever, Richardson brings everything but experience (and accuracy) to Indy as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In his lone season as the starter at Florida, he completed only 53.8 percent of his passes but posted 400-yard games against Tennessee and Vanderbilt and rushed for 654 yards and nine scores. The hope in Colts country is that new coach Shane Steichen can tap into his potential as he did with Jalen Hurts as the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia and build an offense uniquely geared to his two-way talents. Richardson will compete in camp with Gardner Minshew, another new arrival to an offense that finished 27th in yards and 30th in points in the abbreviated Matt Ryan "era" (12 starts). In addition to the coaching change, the Colts drafted North Carolina WR Josh Downs (third round) and added former Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie. "He's a gamer," Downs said of Richardson. "He's going to put in the work to be great.'
