Jaylen Warren 2023 Outlook
Najee Harris may be the leading man in Pittsburgh, but remember the name Warren. He came in as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and didn’t waste much time beating out Benny Snell Jr. for the No. 2 running back job. With a year under his belt, Warren may have learned what he needed to take his game to another level. “I’ve actually seen a lot of development as far as adapting to a new lifestyle, understanding what was needed throughout a long season,” Warren told the team website. Warren finished the season just a shade under 5.0 yards per carry and had his two best fantasy outputs (10.9 and 9.8 points) during the final four games of the season. The Steelers, to help Kenny Pickett in his rookie year at quarterback, rose to No. 10 in the league in team rushing attempts, expanding Warren’s fantasy potential. Warren got 12 red-zone carries and also caught 28 of his 33 targets in the passing game, a terrific rate. Giving Pickett another option out of the backfield should be of real value as both Pickett and Warren enter their sophomore NFL seasons.
