Tyrion Davis-Price 2023 Outlook
With Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell forming a dangerous one-two punch in a run-heavy offense, we are eager to see how Davis-Price factors into the game plan in 2023. As a rookie third-round pick last season, Davis-Price probably got some eager fantasy owners to pick him off waivers when he got 14 carries in his debut in Week 2. That was before the San Francisco 49ers traded for McCaffrey, of course, and Davis-Price would only touch the ball twice more until Christmas Eve. He was targeted twice in the passing game and didn’t catch either ball. The RB3 in San Francisco this season will be either Davis-Price or Jordan Mason. But Mitchell has a nerve-testing injury history, and if he were to go down again for any length of time, Davis-Price’s stock would skyrocket. For that matter, McCaffrey has been known to miss a few games here and there. All a player like Davis-Price needs is a window of opportunity in Kyle Shanahan’s offense to become the next Raheem Mostert or Jeff Wilson.
