Luke Falk 2018 Outlook
According to the Sports Xchange, it was a bit of a surprise that Falk was the only offensive player selected by the Titans in the draft. The former Washington State passer set all sorts of school and conference records in Mike Leach's wide-open offense. Falk will back up Marcus Mariota, and is likely to become the Titans' backup. Right now, veteran Blaine Gabbert is No. 2, so it appears Tennessee will carry three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster this year. So why Falk? Basically because he was far and away the most highly rated player on their board. "He was a guy that was kind of sticking out at the top of our board," GM John Robinson said. "Quarterback is a premium position in this league, and to add a guy like him who's had a really, really productive college career, and with his work ethic and his mindset at that position, a guy to work with, come in here and compete on the 90-man roster for a spot. I'm really excited to add Luke as well." Still, it was puzzling for the Titans not to grab a receiver or tight end as insurance for those positions at some point during the draft.
