Josh Reynolds 2022 Outlook
Last offseason, Reynolds was a free agent after a 618-yard season with the L.A. Rams. He signed in Tennessee but couldn't crack the rotation, earning just 10 catches for 90 yards in five games. The Titans released the 27-year-old, and he was claimed by Detroit, who reunited the wideout with his Rams teammate and quarterback, Jared Goff. Now, after signing a new two-year contract in March, the receiver is sticking with the Lions a bit longer. It took a few weeks for Reynolds to find his footing upon arrival in Detroit, but he showed rapport with Goff down the stretch. In his final six games with Detroit, he generated 306 yards and two TDs on 19 catches. Reynolds has the size to be a good option on the boundary with field-stretching potential. The Lions entered the offseason needing to upgrade the receiver position. Re-signing Reynolds was a start. But adding Jameson Williams with a first round pick and D.J. Chark in free agency will ultimately limit Reynolds' role. With Amon-Ra St. Brown flashing big-play potential, the additions of Williams and Chark give Detroit the making of a decent corps. Players like Reynolds and Quintez Cephus will provide quality depth.
Josh Reynolds 2021 Outlook
After Corey Davis signed with the Jets, the Titans added a new player to their receiving corps. According to ESPN.com, Reynolds figures to be a starting receiver opposite 2020 Pro Bowl wideout A.J. Brown. They suggest Reynolds should hit the ground running for the Titans, having come from a similar offense under Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams. Reynolds is coming off his best season, starting in 13 of 16 games and posting 52 receptions for 618 yards and two touchdowns. In four seasons with the Rams, Reynolds caught 113 passes for 1,450 yards and nine touchdowns. He didn't miss a game in four seasons with the Rams, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 draft. The key in Tennessee is vacated targets. The Titans lost just over 43 percent of their receiving production this offseason in three players: Davis, tight end Jonnu Smith and wideout Adam Humphries are all gone. That trio combined for 15 of the Titans' 33 receiving touchdowns in 2020. Even with the team adding to the position in April's NFL Draft (fourth rounder Dez Fitzpatrick and sixth rounder Racey McMath), Reynolds comes in ahead of the curve.
