ATLANTA FALCONS UPDATE

lMORE DETAILS: JONES EXPECTED TO PLAY DESPITE QUESTIONABLE DESIGNATION

Following up on a previous item. ... Julio Jones, who was limited in practice all week with toe and hamstring injuries, was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report but is expected to face the Redskins on Sunday.

According to ESPN.com's Vaughn McClure, head coach Dan Quinn gave no indication of Jones being unable to play for the 4-0 Falcons.

Jones went through receiver drills on Friday with quarterback Matt Ryan and the rest of the receivers and Vaughn reports he looked fluid with his motions.

Jones, who is tied for second in the league with 478 receiving yards on 38 catches (four touchdowns), has been on the injury report since experiencing hamstring soreness in the season opener against the Eagles. Then the toe injury emerged, and Quinn said it was not related to turf toe.

"It's on the top of his foot," Quinn said of Jones' toe leading into last week’s game. "It's not turf toe at all. I'm not exactly sure when the injury took place on that one. But, definitely not underneath.’’

Jones, who posted 100-plus yards receiving in each of the first three games, was limited to four catches and 38 yards during last week’s 48-21 win over Houston. The Texans rolled safety help toward Jones, opening up opportunities for others such as Leonard Hankerson (six catches, 103 yards versus Texans).

Hankerson, limited this week with a thumb injury, is listed as probable, as tight end Jacob Tamme (concussion). Hankerson and Tamme had full participation on Friday.

Quinn said rookie running back Tevin Coleman, who suffered a fractured rib in Week 2 against the New York Giants, will return to the lineup Sunday, as expected. Coleman is likely to see limited reps behind starter Devonta Freeman, who leads the NFL in scoring with seven touchdowns through four games.

"I knew early on [Coleman would return], but I wanted to see could he keep responding, keep responding,' Quinn told McClure. "So Wednesday, I thought, 'Looks pretty good.' And we went back through Thursday and all the catches, went on the ground [with] no wince to going back up. And then, again, went through the process today.

"I thought he had a really good week. He looks ready. He's fit. He's a real competitor, too, so it will be good to have him back out there.'

Meanwhile, I'll be following up on Jones right through Sunday's kickoff. But expect him to play until we hear otherwise.
