The Facts: The Ravens on Friday signed Smith, their fourth-round pick in this year’s draft, to a three-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Diehards Line:Selected 106th overall out of New Mexico, the 6-1, 215-pound Smith earned earned first-team All-Mountain West Conference honors last season. He started 25 of 49 games and recorded 153 catches for 2,073 yards and 13 touchdowns during his college career. “Marcus Smith is an inside guy, primarily a slot receiver,” Ravens director of college scouting Eric DeCosta said in April. Smith also served as a kickoff return specialist at New Mexico, compiling 1,353 yards on 68 returns in four seasons. He finished his career with 3,749 all-purpose yards.
