The Facts: Stevens faces further suspension from the NFL. The suspension, which is believed to be for two regular season games, stems from the same incident -- a DUI arrest and conviction -- that caused Stevens to be suspended for one regular season game in 2007.
Diehards Line:Stevens, who re-signed with the Bucs last week, likely will miss Tampa Bay's first two regular season games of the year, at New Orleans on Sept. 7, and the home opener against Atlanta on Sept. 14. Stevens decided to serve the first game of the suspension last year. The NFL had handed down a longer suspension and Stevens chose to serve one game and appeal the remaining games. The Bucs also added Ben Troupe and John Gilmore at tight end this offseason. All three men will compete with Alex Smith for snaps this summer.
