The Facts: Jarrett entered a not guilty plea through his attorney today in Mecklenburg County District Court on charges of driving while impaired. Jarrett did not appear in court. His trial date was set for June 23.
Diehards Line:Asked about Jarrett's legal issues last week, HC John Fox said: "What happened to him, we take very seriously. We take great steps to make sure that doesn't happen. ..." As for on-field expectations, Fox offered a less-than-enthusiastic endorsement of the former second-round pick. "He's flashed; he has the ability," Fox said. "He's just got to be able to do it consistently. Hopefully, that comes with experience and growth. ... We're in a wait-and-see mode. ..." Like many receivers in their rookie seasons, Jarrett didn't make much of an impact. He played in seven games with no starts, catching six passes for 73 yards and no touchdowns.
