Diehards Line:Elam grew up in Snellville, Ga. and the Falcons have an obvious need at the position. The team employed 47-year-old Morten Andersen most of last year. Elam is younger comparatively at 38 and still demonstrates solid leg strength along with clutch tendencies, with a career-best four game-winning kicks last season. He made 27 of 31 attempts in 2007 and has an ongoing streak of 35 straight field goals inside 40 yards.
