The Facts: The Panthers select Ole Miss' Mingo with the 39th pick overall.
Diehards Line:
As ESPN's Todd McShay notes, Mingo lines up wide, in the slot, at H-back and in the backfield. He has huge hands and is strong plucking the ball on contested throws. But he also is an effective vertical route runner who tracks the deep ball well. Mingo has the frame to box out defenders underneath and locates soft spots in zone looks. One of his best assets is his strength with the ball in his hands. He is built like a big back, and he is tough to bring down in the open field. Mingo caught 51 passes for 861 yards and five TDs in 2022. He joins Aa Panthers receiving corps in flux, with Adam Thielen, D.J. Chark, Terrace Marshall Jr. and TE Hayden Hurst to work alongside rookie QB Bryce Young... Check our Draft Results page for complete pick-by-pick coverage.
