The Facts: Higgins told NFL Network when asked about being photoshopped into other uniforms that "I plan on being in Cincinnati for a while" according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. "Hopefully for a long time," Higgins said while leading off his answer.
Diehards Line:Higgins is entering the last year of his rookie deal and there has been a lot of speculation that the Bengals-a small market team with a notoriously frugal owner-won't be able the pay the trio of Higgins, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase the big bucks it will take to keep this offense together long-term. That said, there has been more speculation around the idea that the Bengals won't pay Higgins than actual indications that they won't pay Higgins so far. Still, as was the case with DK Metcalf in 2022, Higgins will continue to be a target of other teams unless/until he finally signs an extension. Extending Joe Burrow is still the top priority for Cincy but finding a way to keep Higgins should not be far behind.
