The Facts: The Dolphins are not expected to re-sign Gesicki, according to Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald.
Diehards Line:
As the RedZone.org notes, it was always a mystery as to why the team used the franchise tag on Gesicki in 2022 as he did not seem to be a fit for Mike McDaniel's offense. As a result, the former second-round pick out of Penn State had his fewest snaps (45%), catches (32) and yards (362) since his rookie season. Jaguars TE Evan Engram landed $9 million coming off career lows last offseason and should set the stage for Gesicki's free agent market.
