The Facts: WR/return specialist Ray-Ray McCloud is signing with the 49ers on a two-year deal, a source tells ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Diehards Line:
McCloud led the NFL in kick and punt return yards (1,143) in 2021. He also caught 39 passes for the Steelers last year. Fowler added that Pittsburgh attempted to bring back McCloud, but the 49ers were willing to make a stronger commitment. McCloud can earn up to $10.4 million on the deal, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. San Francisco filled a significant offseason need with this signing. Former 49ers running back and returner Trenton Cannon left the team to sign with the Tennessee Titans.
