The Facts: How will the Bears' new regime maximize the skill set of Fields New HC Matt Eberflus and OCr Luke Getsy vow to create an offense based on Fields’ strengths, which would be a departure from how Matt Nagy ran things.
Diehards Line:
As ESPN.com's Jesse Rogers suggests, a departure from the past can only be a good thing for the Bears. According to Rodgers, Getsy has to decide how to best use Fields, along with running backs David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. That’s a solid trio of legs, so perhaps more RPOs will be in order. He’s already stated that play action will be a cornerstone -- all the more reason to get better on the outside. One issue will be adding to the roster around him -- specifically on the offensive line. Left tackle is a priority, but so are the skill positions, particularly on the edges. The Bears have several No. 2s at wide receiver but need explosiveness downfield.
