The Facts: The immediate future of the New Orleans Saints quarterback position should begin to crystallize in the next few weeks. While joining the CBS Sports ‘Pick Six Podcast’ Wednesday morning, HC Sean Payton said Brees should be making his decision about whether to retire or return for a 21st NFL season public soon. “I think that’s something that, within the next week, week and a half, that he’s going to address and announce,” Payton said.

Diehards Line: Brees has not made any sort of comment on his future since the Saints’ season ended in a divisional round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers January 17. He struggled in that game, throwing three interceptions and just 134 yards. In his post-game comments, Brees said he would stick to his usual routine.
