The Facts: According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Texans' head coaching hire is not expected to change Watson's thinking. He still is expected to want out of Houston, no matter who the head coach is, per Mortensen's sources.
Diehards Line:
This report comes in the wake of ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting that Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy and Bills DC Leslie Frazier are expected to get second interviews with the Texans. They could both speak to the Texans after today’s game, but only the coach from the losing team could be hired before the Super Bowl is played. Schefter adds that both coaches have begun talking to prospective members of their staffs. And while one of these two could be the next coach of the Texans, they will also have to compete with other candidates, including former Lions head coach Jim Caldwell, Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, Ravens assistant coach David Culley and former quarterback Josh McCown. But it sounds like whoever is hired, they'll face a challenge in winning Watson over -- or of convincing the QB his division with management can be overcome.
