The Facts: The Buccaneers have generated plenty of hype heading into the 2020 NFL season with their firepower on offense. It appears HC Bruce Arians already has an idea of how the pecking order will shake out in the backfield. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Arians revealed that Jones will serve as the primary option while veteran free agent LeSean McCoy takes on a complementary role: “Rojo’s the main guy. He’ll carry the load.”
Diehards Line:Arians added that McCoy should contribute in the passing game. Fantasy football owners may want to take note of Arians’ declaration when the time comes to compose their draft strategy -- although Jones is already well ahead of rookie Ke'Shawn Vaughn in current ADP. Of course, it remains to be seen just how many touches there are to go around in this star-studded Buccaneers’ offense. Jones was able to follow up a rough rookie season by finishing the 2019 campaign with 172 carries for 724 yards and six touchdowns while tacking on 31 receptions for 309 yards. Now that he has managed to show off his potential as a former second-round pick, it seems Arians is confident that he can take over workhorse duties on early downs.
