The Facts: A source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport the Jaguars have applied a second-round RFA tender to Cole.
Diehards Line:
The 26-year old Cole went undrafted in 2017. Because he went undrafted, an original-round tender wouldn’t have returned draft compensation to Jacksonville if the franchise had failed to match an offer sheet for Cole. A second-round tender guarantees that Cole will not be receiving any offers. Second-round tenders for RFAs in 2020 are estimated to be worth about $3.2 million, according to Over The Cap. In his three years in Jacksonville, Cole has caught 104 balls and accumulated 1,600 yards and seven touchdowns but is coming off his worst statistical season in 2019, posting just 24 receptions for just 361 yards and three scores.
