The Facts:
The Jaguars are releasing Swaim, source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, moving on from the former Cowboy.
Diehards Line:
Swaim was set to count $4,300,000 against the team’s salary cap this season. ... There was hope Swaim could be a serviceable tight end in Jacksonville’s offense last season. He was originally a seventh round pick out of Texas by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2015 NFL Draft and was viewed mostly as a special teams player and a blocking tight end. Swaim forced his way on to the active roster in 2015 as a rookie, though he didn’t play much. He finishes his career in Jacksonville with 13 receptions for 65 yards and zero touchdowns.
