The Facts: Chronicle staffer Aaron Wilson, citing league sources, reports the Texans reached a four-year deal with Fairbairn.
Diehards Line:
The 26-year-old kicker was an unrestricted free agent. Fairbairn struggled early in the season, missing three extra points and two field goals in the first six games. He rebounded later in the season. Fairbairn had the game winning field goal against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to clinch the AFC South division title. He later kicked a field goal to beat the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card game at NRG Stadium. Since coming to Houston in 2017, Fairbairn has connected on 77 of 92 field-goal tries and 111 of his 121 extra-point attempts.
