The Facts: HC Adam Gase and Bell are on the same page. The star running back said the two are “straight” after their exit meeting at the end of the regular season. “We’ll see how things go, obviously, in the offseason, but me and coach Gase had our exit meeting. It was fine, so we straight,” Bell told TMZ Sports. Bell added that he plans to play out the three years remaining on the four-year, $52 million deal he signed with New York last offseason. “Unless something drastic changes,” he said. “We’ll see.”
Diehards Line:The 27-year-old running back had his worst career year last season, setting a career-low in yards per carry (3.2) and tying his career low in touchdowns (3). The entire season was clouded by reports that Gase thought Bell was overpaid, and was filled with trade rumors throughout. Bell said that no longer bothers him. “I think maybe four or five years ago, it would have, but I’ve been through so much in this league, I’ve seen everything,” he said. “Nothing really surprises me anymore. So when my name is thrown into trade talks, it doesn’t really phase me. I just go out there, control what I can control, live my life, be happy.”
