The Facts: The Minnesota Vikings will be without one of their running backs for the first bit of the 2019 season. Thomas was suspended three games by the NFL on Tuesday for violating the league's policy on substances of abuse.
Diehards Line:
Thomas was arrested in January after Dakota County police officers executed a search warrant of his apartment and found over five ounces of marijuana, over 100 grams over the legal limit, per the Pioneer Press. The running back admitted to felony marijuana possession in May, though the charge will stay off his record if he completes his probation. Thomas is eligible to play and practice during the preseason. He may return to the Vikings in the regular season on Sept. 23 following Minnesota's Week 3 game against the Raiders. Minnesota also employ starter Dalvin Cook, Alexander Mattison, Mike Boone, Ameer Abdullah and Khari Blasingame in the backfield.
