The Facts: HC Sean McDermott told reporters that starting Kroft suffered a broken foot during yesterday’s first OTA session and will need surgery.
Diehards Line:
Kroft sianged with Buffalo as a free agent this offesason for $7 million a year after compiling all of 616 yards in four seasons with the Bengals. Even in 2017, the lone full season in which he was a full-time starter, Kroft ranked 20th out of 22 qualifying tight ends with a measly 1.06 yards per route. That wasn't necessarily doing second-year quarterback Josh Allen any favors. Meanwhile, rookie Dawson Knox might have a clearer path to workload. We'll follow up as needed.
