The Facts: Adams is expected to miss the start of the team’s offseason conditioning program as he recovers from shoulder surgery, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media. Adams underwent labrum surgery following the team’s divisional-round playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints in January. Adams was given a six-month timetable for a return, so he should be able to participate in training camp in July.
Diehards Line:
Adams was signed as an undrafted free agent last offseason. Following a strong preseason, Adams spent two weeks on the practice squad. He was elevated to the 53-man roster after Darren Sproles suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2. The Notre Dame alum eventually earned the starting running back job in Week 11 and from there Adams started five consecutive games, amassing 333 rushing yards and three touchdowns in that span. Adam finished the season with 120 carries for a team-best 511 rushing yards and three touchdowns. With Adams recovering from surgery, the Eagles still have four other running backs on the roster for offseason workouts, including Jordan Howard, Wendell Smallwood, Boston Scott and Donnel Pumphrey. There is also Corey Clement, though he’s coming off a season-ending knee injury and his status for the offseason program is unclear.
