The Facts: The Jets have released Crowell.
Diehards Line:Given the addition of Le'Veon Bell, the news comes as no real surprise. Crowell was due $2 million of his $4 million salary for 2019 on Friday. The Jets clear $3 million in cap space and carry $2 million in dead money by making the move now. Crowell, who signed as a free agent last year, had an up and down season with the Jets. He set the franchise single-game rushing record, with 219 yards against the Broncos in October. But he did little else of note.
