The Facts: The dynamic star turn of Watson during his second NFL season left general manager Brian Gaine intrigued by the possibilities. Watson was added to the Pro Bowl roster as he made strides despite being sacked more than anyone in the league. "There's a ton of upside with Deshaun Watson, great kid, great skillset," Gaine said Thursday at the NFL scouting combine.
Diehards Line:Upside is interesting consideringt the production we've seen to date. Watson emerged as a leader for the AFC South champions, passing for 4,165 yards and 26 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He also rushed for 551 yards and five touchdowns. Now, Watson could improve further with a full offseason and being healthy after spending a lot of time last year rehabbing from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered as a rookie two years ago. "We're optimistic that the ceiling is really high with him," Gaine said Thursday at the NFL scouting combine. "We're excited about his offseason and now he's going to have a full offseason with (DeAndre) Hopkins, (Will) Fuller, (Keke) Coutee, the full skillset of the offense. The timing of that, the coordination of that, the silent communication of that, I think that will pay great dividends for us." Fantasy owners should have a similar outlook.
