The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... The Ravens waived Collins, who was arrested following a car crash Friday morning.
Diehards Line:
Collins, 24, is a restricted free agent, and there were questions about whether he would receive a tender even before his accident. After a breakout 2017 season in which he became one of the NFL's Cinderella stories, Collins didn't follow it up in 2018. He landed on injured reserve (foot) on Dec. 1 after rushing for 411 yards and seven touchdowns and averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. In 2017, Collins went from being released by the Seattle Seahawks, to the Ravens’ practice squad, to an offensive star that captured the nation's attention and adoration with his impressive running and Irish dancing. He rushed for 973 yards and averaged 4.6 yards per carry, a full yard more than he did in 2018. Undrafted rookie Gus Edwards took over for Collins late last season and has since staked his claim as the Ravens’ top running back entering the 2019 offseason.
