The Facts: HC Doug Marrone released the following statement this afternoon: “I spoke to both quarterbacks this afternoon and told them that Blake will be our team’s starting quarterback. I believe this gives us the best opportunity to win.”

Diehards Line:Marrone wanted to talk to both Bortles and Cody Kessler befor making his decision public. Now we all know. Bortles will start against the Eagles in Week 8. That said, Kessler will get reps this week with Jacksonville's starting offense, and Bortles will be on "a short leash."
