The Facts: For the second straight day, the Lions had a key offensive player leave practice. And for the second straight day, no one seems overly alarmed. Blount missed the final 30 minutes or so of the Lions' two-hour practice Sunday for undisclosed reasons.
Diehards Line:
Blount walked off the field under his own power, with a trainer by his side, a few periods after he took a knee in the end zone as a trainer monitored his water intake. Blount, a 250-pound running back who's one of the Lions' biggest free-agent additions of the offseason, did not return to the field and was not available to reporters after practice, but WR Marvin Jones was back practicing after leaving Saturday's workout with a left knee injury. Both Jones and Blount are expected to be major contributors this fall on an offense that the Lions believe can be one of the best in the NFL. Neither issue seems like a concern, but we'll obviously be watching for more in coming days.
