The Facts: The Cardinals did not open training camp until Friday, as they as they will have the latest preseason opener in the league. But as camp opened, two things were made clear: Bradford is healthy and he is the starting quarterback.
Diehards Line:HC Steve Wilks reiterated on Saturday that Bradford is locked in as his QB1. “I don’t waver that Sam is our starter,” he told reporters Saturday after the team’s walkthrough. “It is his job to lose.” That means rookie Josh Rosen and veteran Mike Glennon will compete for the back-up job. As long, that is, as Bradford remains healthy. Coming off a knee injury that limited him to only two games last year, the team limited his work and reps in offseason work. Now, he is ready to ramp things up. “It’s definitely the best it’s felt since the injury last year,” Bradford said. Wilks said Bradford’s knee is “stronger than it has ever been.” We’ll see how long it stays that way.
