The Facts: Gronkowski will join his team for voluntary offseason team activities. But it’s not clear when, exactly, he will get back in the Patriots’ ranks.
Diehards Line:
Gronk has missed all of phase one and two of the team’s program. Phase three, the final phase which includes on-field practice, will begin on Monday. Gronk may not attend Monday’s session, but should return eventually. Gronkowski mulled retirement this offseason, but addressed his future with the team with Bill Belichick, and will return for the 2018 season. However, Gronk still seems intent upon leveraging for a contract renegotiation. If Gronk is waiting for that adjustment, he would be waiting for the 24th to do so, because that would mark a full year since his last adjustment. It’s against league rules to adjust a contract within one year. Perhaps after that change, Gronk might join his team at Gillette Stadium.
