The Facts: According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Cardinals apparently will have some interest in Glennon when he is officially released by the Bears and he’s officially available tomorrow.
Diehards Line:
As PFT's Darin Gantt understated, "That’s a huge step down from the parenthetical interest they apparently had in guys such as Kirk Cousins and Case Keenum. ...." The Cardinals weren’t able to get into a bidding war for Cousins and the Broncos moved quickly to get Keenum to agree to a deal. The Cardinals have a blank slate at quarterback, with Carson Palmer retired and Drew Stanton and Blaine Gabbert unrestricted free agents. Glennon might not be much of an upgrade, but he could be a bridge to a rookie -- like he was in Chicago last year (even if it was a much shorter bridge than the Bears hoped with Mitchell Trubisky forced into action after four lackluster games from Glennon). The Cardinals have the 15th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
