The Redskins have re-signed Hopkins. The Florida State product will be entering his fourth season in Washington. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hopkins, 27, has appeared in 39 career games with Washington, converting 73-of-87 field goal attempts along with 93-of-98 extra point tries. Additionally, he’s averaged 62.9 yards on 212 career kickoffs with 146 touchbacks. In his three seasons with the Redskins to date, Hopkins is perfect on field goals between 20 and 29 yards, successfully converting on all 26 of his tries from that range. He also ranks fifth in team history in field goals made (73), fifth in extra points made (93) and 13th in points (312, fifth-most among kickers). His 83.9 field goal percentage also ranks second in franchise records among kickers with at least 50 field goal attempts, and his 34 made field goals during the 2016 campaign set a single-season team record.
