The Facts: The Herald has learned the team will cut Thomas by March 14. That will save $6.6 million in cap space.
Diehards Line:
As the Sports Xchange recently noted, Thomas (41 receptions, 388 yards, three touchdowns) was a disaster relative to the expectations. The Dolphins haven't cemented this position in years, and with Adam Gase's forward-thinking offense, you would think this would be a priority. The problem is Miami has other major priorities. Ideally, the Dolphins acquire what Thomas was in Denver under Gase -- an athletic, seam-running tight end.
