The Facts: According to ESPN.com's Jeff Dickerson, the Bears probably move on from Wheaton.
Diehards Line:
Wheaton, who underwent multiple surgeries in 2017, caught three passes for 51 yards in 11 games. He is scheduled to earn $5 million this season. He has seven receptions in the past two years combined. Wheaton, when healthy, would fit in new HC Matt Nagy’s offense because of his speed, but how can the Bears trust him? And how can they pay him $5 million? Dickerson doesn't see that happening.
