The Facts: Moore had a solid practice on Friday, one day after starter Ryan Tannehill went down with a knee injury. If the Dolphins decide to go with Moore as their starter at the beginning of the season, and perhaps much longer, he has confidence he can play effectively. "This is part of my role," Moore said Friday. "I've done this before, in stepping up and being ready, if need be. That's what I know. And that's kind of the attitude I have moving forward."
Diehards Line:
Moore did not dispute that there’s been a negative vibe around training camp since Tannehill’s injury. “I mean, guys, it stinks, but I thought today was a good practice,” Moore said. “Guys were popping around pretty competitive. So it was good.” Moore played four games for the Dolphins last season, including three starts. Moore had eight touchdowns and three interceptions and posted an impressive quarterback rating of 105.6. HC Adam Gase says Moore is the starter — for now — and so Moore, like Gase, is just waiting for a final determination on how long Tannehill will be out and if he’ll have surgery. And the rest of us wait as well.
