The Facts: With reports earlier Wednesday indicating HC John Harbaugh and GM Ozzie Newsome would like to sign Kaepernick, but owner Steve Bisciotti is keeping them from doing so, Newsome issued a denial. "We are going through a process and have not made a decision," Newsome said. "Steve Bisciotti has not told us we cannot sign Colin Kaepernick, nor has he blocked the move. Whoever is making these claims is wrong."

Diehards Line: Fair enough. ... Even though Bisciotti himself has suggested the controversy surrounding Kaepernick was generating considerable fan input was being taken into account in this case. ... Meanwhile, Harbaugh confirmed today that signs are "very positive" as Joe Flacco recovers from a back issue. No update on when he will return, but the quicker he's back the less the world will wonder why Kaepernick hasn't been signed.
