The Facts:
Bernard joined his Bengals teammates on the practice field for the first day of training camp Friday, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer. The running back tore his ACL in November, but was in full gear on the field Friday.
Diehards Line:
Bernard was a bit of a disappointment prior to the injury with 91 carries for 337 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-low 3.7-yards per carry. He also added 39 catches for 336 yards and one touchdown before missing the final six games due to his ACL tear. Now, the arrival of rookie Joe Mixon is an additional obstacle for Bernard. So the fact that he's not opening the camp on PUP is clearly a positive, but we still advise a cautious approach for now. ... Also, the Bengals placed running back Cedric Peerman on the non-football injury list, and receiver Monty Madaris on the physically unable to perform list. The team can remove the players from the lists when they are cleared to practice.
