The Facts: Bills GM Brandon Beane and HC Sean McDermott have committed to a relentless pursuit of upgrading their roster whenever an opportunity presents itself. Boldin could be the latest opportunity. The free agent wideout paid a visit to the Bills on Monday.
Diehards Line:
Reports first surfaced over the weekend that the receiver would be meeting with the coaching staff and front office today. Boldin, who is set to turn 37 in October, played last season for Detroit and proved to be an effective complementary weapon. He finished second on the team in receptions with 67 catches, and led the Lions in touchdowns with eight. Boldin is a former teammate of Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor, as the two were teammates in Baltimore for two seasons. As BuffaloBills.com's Chris Brown notes, where Boldin would fit on Buffalo’s depth chart at receiver is difficult to peg with what is largely a jumble behind top wideout Sammy Watkins. But if he did sign with Buffalo, he’d be a welcome veteran presence and provide an additional red zone threat in the passing game.
