The Facts: Asked if Wheaton have a real chance at starting over the likes of Victor Cruz, Kendall Wright and Cameron Meredith, Tribune staffer Brad Biggs wrote: "I think Wheaton has a better chance to start than Cruz and Wright."
Diehards Line:Biggs went on to explain they're all different players or at least they were used differently with previous teams. Cruz and Wright are best in the slot and Wheaton was best on the outside with the Steelers. Pittsburgh tried utilizing Wheaton in the slot but he wasn’t nearly as productive or effective there as he was lined up on the outside. So Biggs thinks it’s a little bit of apples and oranges from that standpoint. Cameron Meredith has a good chance to line up as a starter and there’s no doubt the Bears will push former first-round pick Kevin White into a prominent role. But who starts isn’t as big of an issue to as playing time is. It'll be something worth watching through August.
