The Facts: The Vikings announced on Wednesday that they have signed former Hillman.
Diehards Line:Hillman’s arrival comes on the same day that they announced that Adrian Peterson will be having surgery on his torn meniscus and that there’s no timetable for a return to the lineup. On top of that, the Vikings also placed left tackle Matt Kalil on injured reserve with a hip injury. He’s expected to miss the season and, of course, they know that quarterback Teddy Bridgewater won’t play again in 2016. Hillman led the Broncos with 863 rushing yards in the regular season last year, but C.J. Anderson returned to the lead back role as the year wound down and Denver added Devontae Booker in the fourth round of the draft. Hillman will join Jerrick McKinnon and Matt Asiata as options in the backfield with Peterson out of the lineup.
